Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hiya,
I am new new to Shopify and currently setting up my shop.
I wanted to know if its possible to add additional order statuses with pre-saved messages?
For example I want to notify the customer when their order will be dispatched.
- Dispatched Today
- Dispatched Tomorrow
- Dispatched on Monday
As I can't find this option in the Shopify software, please can someone point me in the right direction?

Within Shopify when you confirm or ship orders, your customers can automatically receive an email that links them to their order status page. Check out this guide to know more: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/orders/status-tracking/order-status-email
You can check out Shopify Multi Carrier Shipping Label App. The app automatically sends live order tracking updates to customers via email as soon as the tracking status is updated by the shipping carrier. Not just that you can track the orders within the Shopify dashboard with a tracking lookup page.

We ship all our orders Monday to Friday at 4.30pm, we currently use Oscommerce software which allows us to notified/alert the customer when there order will be dispatched, e.g. Today, Tomorrow or on Monday.
Say a customer places an order at 4.31pm (just after the dispatch deadline) how do they know when there order will be dispatched? As there is nothing in Shopify that notifys the customer?
I am just worried that once we go live with our new Shopify store, we will get many emails from confused customers not knowing when their orders will be sent.
Does anyone has a solution?

Would I be right to say that you would like to send a pre-shipment email to the customer letting them know when their order will be dispatched?
One way I could see this working is if you tagged your orders with the day (e.g. today, tomorrow, Monday) and from there, the tag will trigger an email to the customer with the dispatch day. It may seem a little complex, but I believe the Mechanic app could automate both of these tasks for you: https://apps.shopify.com/mechanic.
