How can I add product dimensions for each item on my ecommerce site?

Hi there, 

I was just wondering if you know or have a way to add product dimensions to each individual product on shopify?

We sell home appliances which come in many shapes, sizes and weights. However the weight of a product doesn't necessarily account for the size of the product. Sometimes the heaviest items can be smaller than the bigger items. We are trying to give customers the best and most accurate shipping rate when it comes to this as we feel we are losing sales and/or money due to incorrect shipping rates when a customer leaves the checkout or purchases the product with the incorrect shipping rate.

Similar boat to you. We need to be able to somehow assign a specific box size to a specific product.  Different products are different sizes for us and we're not being efficient with shipping costs because there is only a default option for all products. I think shopify reckons we only are 1 product shops on here. It's a ridiculous situation to be in. Surely this is a basic need, to allocate packaging to a product and not just have a default 1 size fits all method.

Thanks for your response and I completely agree! Hopefully Shopify allows the the input of  product box product dimensions in the near future as this will really generate an accurate shipping rate for customers, thus helping businesses that are in the same boat as us! Should we have access to this, I feel sales across the board of all businesses will greatly increase, which in turn will generate more income for Shopify!!
