Hi @Dicultbars

You are very welcome!

That is no problem, I can explain how to use the link above to contact support.

After you click the link, you will be prompted to login and select the store in question. Once you do that it should bring you to a page where you can see a search bar.

You will first need to search for something here in order to be routed to the various help center documents and also the support team contact options.

Type something into this search bar such as 'change store currency' and then click the green Search button.

On the search results page, you will be presented with several resources related to your query. Feel free to check them out, however in this case you will need to speak to support directly to get your currency changed.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see another green button that says Continue, right underneath where it says Get Support. Click this button and you will be shown all of the available contact methods. Live chats will generally be the quickest response time, however you could also connect via email or possibly request a phone callback (only when available).

Your customers would be able to checkout in their local currency, which can increase your conversion rate. We have more information on selling in multiple currencies here

Also, if you are keen to target international markets, you could consider using Shopify Markets. It's a free cross border management tool that makes managing international markets easier. Check it out here to learn more

Hey @Dicultbars

That is awesome to hear you have already made your first sale, well done! Have you had a chance to check out our official Shopify tutorial YouTube video? It's an awesome resource for starting out on Shopify! We also have this handy checklist that outlines all of the steps you need to take on your store to set yourself up for success.

You are correct in saying that in order to change your store currency after making a sale, you would first need to contact Shopify Support to help you make the change. I am sorry to hear you have been unable to contact us - you can use this link here while logged into your store

Our team will explain the currency change process to you, however just so you know there's several reasons why the currency is locked after you make a sale. It is designed to stop potential accidental damage including the following:

  • The reporting for the previous sales/reports doesn’t convert. For example if your current reports give a total of $500 in sales and you change the currency to GBP, the reports will say £500 (the currency changes but does not convert).
  • Product Prices will also not convert, so you will need to review them and make any necessary currency conversions to ensure you are charging the correct amount.
  • If you are using any apps that interact with your currency, you may need to check with the app developer to see if changing your currency will have any effect on the app.
  • Gift cards with remaining balances in the old selling currency will not work once the selling currency of the store has been changed.
  • Finally, any shipping rates for the store will maintain the previous currency and will not update automatically. You may need to delete the previous rates and add them back in manually with updated pricing in your new currency.

Thank you for the reply Rick but when I select my store from the link you have mentioned it still doesn't allow me to contact support.
