As this message says, I need to review the information and correct any errors. I can't figure out how to change this information.

Hey, @HenrySanderson.

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.

The minimum age requirement to use Shopify is 18 years old as indicated in section 1.2 of the Shopify Terms of Service. As such, you wouldn't be able to use Shopify and you may want check with your parents about becoming the primary owner of your Shopify store to move forward with your business endeavours. After checking with your parents, you can add a staff account for your parents and transfer the store ownership to them. Once that's done, you can press Submit details and provide the account information for your parents. Depending on where you're operating from, it's also important that your parents understand the tax liabilities of owning and managing an online store.  As an example, merchants are recommended to review their tax liabilities in the US

That being said, I'd love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

So should I get my parent to create a whole new shopify account and store, then add myself as an employee or is there a way to simply take the account I already have and give it to my parent then create a new employee account for me?

Hey, @HenrySanderson.

Thank you for following up!

If you've already put in a lot of time and effort on your existing store, then it would probably be easier to add your parents as a staff and then transfer the store ownership to them. However, if you didn't get to take full advantage of the trial period, then you can have your parents create a new Shopify account and then add a staff account for you. Once you have a staff account, you'll also want to have your parent(s) review the staff permissions for your account so you can access areas of the admin for developing the store.

Simply follow the these steps to transfer your existing store to your parents:

  1. Add a staff account for your parent(s).
  2. Transfer store ownership to your parent(s).
  3. Have your parent(s) add a staff account for you.
  4. Have your parent(s) review the staff permissions for your account.

After transferring the ownership to your parents, you can have them try submitting their details for Shopify Payments. If they're not sure what information they need to provide, then you can have them take a look at our guide here: Information requirements for Shopify Payments. However, should they run into any issues with submitting the details, then they'll need to get in touch with us via the Shopify Help Center and we'd be happy to further assist them through live chats.

If you have any other questions on this topic, don't hesitate to let me know!
