How can I enable customers to select pickup or delivery dates on Shopify?

Hi everyone! I've been using Shopify since about June of last year now, and I really love it! I've come across a few issues but typically I recieve help bypassing any problems pretty quickly..

 

I've had one issue for over a week now and it's been impacting my sales. I need to be able to offer pickup, delivery, and shipping, and I need to be able to disable one product for shipping, meaning that product is delivery / pickup only. I also need to be able to allow my customers to choose their date of delivery / pickup, because the organization of having certain days and deadlines is vital to my store!

 

I've tried several different apps, and they all come with the same issue, leading me to believe it is an issue with something I've done in the admin that is causing this.

 

For some reason no matter the app, I can have the pickup / delivery / ship options chosen, but once the customer continues to the checkout page, it completely disregards the option the customer had chosen on the cart page just before. It is like the checkout completely disregards any changes made on the cart page. I have added some screenshots to this post in the hopes to explain better!

This is a common issue and question we deal with quite often. 
The methods are showing because they are enabled in Shopify settings.

Our solution to this is to turn those off and add our app ass a carrier in General Shipping profiles. 
Please note that our app requires access to Shopify's Carrier Access API to function as intended.

Once that is set, the checkout looks like this: 🙂

#1 Shopify » Shipping & Delivery » Click there

#2 Uncheck the box and save. Then do a checkout test.

Is there a way to set this up for a delivery date app that I already have downloaded? I've tried earlier to disable the shipping and delivery in the Shopify admin, and it doesn't effect the apps ability at all...

Can I check what delivery date app you are using? You may need to get in touch with their support team to discuss how best to configure your settings for their app.🙂

 

If you are using Store Pickup + Delivery for example, it is best to remove local delivery and pickup options from Shopify, and instead set up your store as 'offers shipping', with Store Pickup + Delivery as a carrier for your rates. This way customers can select their checkout method within the cart page, and not again within the customer information page.🙂

 

Other apps may have different needs and settings though, so it may be best to check in with them!

Thank you!

I am currently using Order Delivery Date. I've tried handfuls of different apps, with the same issue. I've been to the customer support for those apps, and the customer support for the Shopify admin. No one has a clear answer, and everyone continuously hands me off to the other support. The app support sends me to the Shopify admin support, and vice versa. Is it even possible to integrate delivery date / pickup apps to Shopify??

At one point I was told that it isn't possible to change the settings of the checkout page, but the screenshot I've posted along with this message is suggesting otherwise. I'm very confused and a little frustrated. This has been weeks. I would love some real  help with this!

Still having some trouble with this one - to the point of one support member just telling me 'this isn't possible, sorry! 🤷‍♀️' I'm just confused on why Shopify would allow a third party app that doesn't integrate with its stores.. There's got to be a way to work around it.. right?

I don't believe any apps integrate directly with Shopify's own pickup/delivery feature which is why we suggest disabling it. You will, however, need to reach out to an app's support team to confirm this. 

 

Earlier on in this thread, my colleague Herman showed you how to disable Shopify's feature. 

 

In your initial post, you listed things you wished an app to be able to do, all of which our app Store Pickup + Delivery can do. 

 

What specifically are you using with Shopify's feature that you cannot find in another app?

Knowing more about your desired setup will enable us to best assist you!
