How can I exclude gift cards from cash on delivery options?

Hello, I just added Gift cards to my page as a product. After testing it out I see customers are able to use COD as an option. This is a digital order. I will not be delivering anything. How can I keep COD for other products but not my gift cards.

At this stage, restricting Cash on Delivery (COD) payments for gift cards isn't a native feature of the Shopify platform. If you'd like to add this feature to your store, you'll need to install a third-party app, such as this one here. An app like the one I linked can allow you to hide specific payment options based on various conditions, such as product type or customer preferences. This should then allow you to hide the COD payment option for gift cards.

Keep in mind that because apps like the one I mentioned have been created by third-party developers outside of Shopify, if you have any app-specific queries you'll need to reach out to the app support team directly. They're best equipped to assist you with any of your questions and concerns.

I can understand how useful it'll be to offer a feature like this natively on our admin, however, so I'll be sure to pass this on as feedback to our internal development team. While we can't guarantee if or when features are implemented on our platform, you can keep an eye out on our Changelog here for the latest releases to Shopify.

This is not directly possible in Shopify's settings, but you can do it with our app Releasit Cash On Delivery that you can install for free from the Shopify App Store here: https://apps.shopify.com/cash-on-delivery-fee

After you install the app go on the Limit COD page and you will find the option to disable COD for gift cards here:

With this option active, your COD payment method will not be visible if the customer has a gift card on his cart.
