How can I implement a 'Price on Request' feature for certain products?

Hi, 

I am looking to implement a "Price on Request" feature for a client. Most products have prices but some would require the price to be set on a per order basis. Ideally, an employee would be able to create an order, list an existing product with a custom price and send a checkout url to the customer.

I know we are able to create custom items for an order, but I am not sure how well it integrates with accounting reports and so on. I am looking to implement this myself, but if there are apps that do this please let me know too!

My apologies, I failed to mention that I am using a custom storefront through the storefront API. Is there any way that I can create a checkout URL with a custom price and send that to my customers?

My initial plan was to create a new variant for each request and use it to create a checkout URL, but I am wondering if there is a better solution.

Hi that is standard. When creating a quote you can send them a checkout link
