Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I make furniture and have some standard items I sell. But I also do lots of commissions on new work for which I’d like to invoice the client and have them be able to pay via Shopify. A workaround would be to creat a “product” for ‘them with the price of the commission but that would be a hassle to create each time. I usually bill 50% up front with the balance on delivery. How do I do that?
Thanks
Alan

Hi @Furnituremaker,
While the workaround you outlined is the best native solution we'd offer, I can appreciate it is not ideal and could be cumbersome. I shall be sure to pass that feedback on to our developers, although I cannot guarantee if or when that might be implemented in our platform.
In the meantime, your best bet for your invoicing needs is to consult with a third-party app like Easy Invoice+. We have a list of the Best Invoices apps for 2022 on the Shopify App Store.
I had a look at your store, and I think it's so inspiring that you build custom furniture. Have you had a look at How To Sell Furniture and Home Decor Online: The Ultimate Guide?
Truthfully, it's something that I've always been interested in myself but have only ever attempted in my local community class once or twice. Have you given any thought to maybe starting a YouTube channel showcasing the process of making your pieces? If you reach 1000 subscribers, you could even start selling your products on YouTube.
In fact, while we're on the subject, have you given any thought to what your content strategy is? I can see you have an Instagram page and Facebook page but are you leveraging either much to draw attention to what you're making? There's a thriving woodwork community on Instagram, and likewise on TikTok because both media are very visual and can really involve the viewer. Have you thought about using these more to attract people to your store?
Also, when I was on your store I noticed you didn't have your favicon setup. This is a really cool feature and it makes the page look a lot more trustworthy and professional. The favicon is the little logo you see in the tabs on your browser:
I'd recommend adding a favicon to your store, and I look forward to hearing more from you about your content strategy!

Thanks Andrew. Not the answer I was hoping for but very helpful all the same.
