Hi there, @kevin311. Thanks for reaching out to the Community with your question!

To me, it sounds like your Google Search results are showing information from your most recent website crawl. Google uses bots to check out websites to build search results from the information available on them. These bots scroll when they can, and there's no way to control when it happens. It looks like these bots just need to crawl your site again to update the information.

If possible, can you provide some links to these products you're searching in Google, so I can do the same and look into when they were last crawled?

You can actually request that Google re-crawl some specific URLs, and this may lead to the updated information being provided. You can use this link here to learn more about that.

@Imogen I think we all know that Google would need to re-crawl the page yet we need to make changes in order for the re-crawl to have different results.

some of us have thousands of products and took a lot of time to set up shipping rates specific to those products.  for Shopify to show a blanket Free delivery to the search engines is nothing more than misinformation due to the way Shopify is coding the product page.

do you have some information that would help us figure out where and why Shopify's is defaulting to Free delivery for all of my products even though shipping rates are set up?

FYI these products are not in my Google Merchant.  Free delivery is showing up in Google's search results.   I would ideally like to just remove any shipping delivery fee information from the meta data being read for the product page.

Hi there, @bryan76. Thanks for taking the time to follow up on this older thread.

Typically when results like this are appearing on Google, it's due to the language that was being used on the theme pages when Google's bots completed their crawl. As with any update of information, once Google has had the chance to re-crawl the site, any changes will be reflected in the Search Results that are yielded. It could be that themes use 'Free Shipping' as default wording in some situations, but this may not be consistent across all themes due to there being third party themes, first party themes, and so on.

When did you notice Google was providing this information in it's search results most recently? Do you happen to have a screenshot that I can see of these results and how they are appearing? How long has the culprit page been available to the public to the crawled?

Feel free to follow up with me when you can with the requested information.

Thank you for your reply.  Here is the Google Search results that is the same for all products new / old.   It is hard to say when it began to say Free delivery.  Al I know is that I do not have free delivery and it seems that it could be intentionally disingenuous.

I use Dawn theme 2.0.  I know that there could be code regarding

"shippingDetails": {

"@type": "OfferShippingDetails",

"shippingRate":

 in the structred data / schema but i cannot find it in the code.

I am looking for specifics as I understand the problem.  I am just looking for a concrete solution.   Let me know if you know if you have a solution I can implement to solve this problem

Thank you!

Hi there, @bryan76. Thanks for following up on our thread here. Just to set some expectations for you, we're unable to authenticate users here in the Community, so I'm unable to access any store specific information, like the metadata for your pages.

I decided to try to search the same search terms you used in Google to generate those results, and found myself staring down many different reservoirs. However, there was a similarity between them in that only the pricing and stock status was shown for me; there was no delivery information provided at all. I noticed that you covered the URL for your specific ad - I'm wondering if it's possible if you can let me see your URL so I can try to replicate the results you're seeing?

I did some digging internally looking for examples when other folks have run into this same issue. From what I was able to find, resubmitting one's sitemap to Google's Search Console was able to clear up the issue, along with some other steps that can be taken by our authenticated team, like a data refresh for the shop. You can refer to this document here for sitemap submission info.

Something else others noticed was that, even though these products weren't within their GMC, their GMC was still pulling data from Shopify to show online, which included information regarding shipping. Doing some digging here, some folks found errors when running a diagnostic test within their GMC (Open your GMC > Go to 'Products' > Go to 'Diagnostics') and were able to resolve them there.

I hope these potential solutions are helpful to you in someway! Additionally, I'm still eager to see your store's URL so I can attempt to generate the same results you did in Google. Replication is a big part of our troubleshooting processes so I'd love to see if this is something I can do.
