Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
Would like to see if someone can answer this question for me. I am in the midst of making shipping labels for my company and would like to change the template of the label so I can change the return address. We would like to take out the world Jewelry in the company name for theft reasons and wanted to see if this is possible.
Also, wanted to know if it is possible to put our logo instead of our company name in the return address of the label and make this permanent for the labels.
If anyone has any insight, please let me know. Thank you.
Hi, @Nicole_Dersovit!
Julie here from Shopify Support. Thanks for reaching out.
The address that appears on your shipping labels is the same address that you have entered in Settings > Locations. If you need to change the address that appears on your labels, then you can edit your address there.
Now, the store name that appears on your labels is the same store name that you've entered in the Store Name section under Settings > General. Unfortunately, you cannot edit the store name for individual labels, so you'll just need to edit the store name under those particular settings if you want to remove "Jewelry".
As for your logo, whether it can be added to your shipping label really boils down to the shipping carrier and services you are using. Shipping carriers have strict format requirement and not all shipping carriers support store logos. If they do, your customization options will be fairly limited and it wouldn't be possible to configure the size, placement, or quality of the store logo on labels.
Shopify Shipping does not support shipping label customizations, so I took a look to see if there are any third-party apps that offer this feature. It seems like both ShipStation and ShippingEasy offer this functionality. Again, this is only possible with specific carriers and services, so if you decide to use one of these apps, you'll just need to make sure that you're using a supported shipping carrier and service. If you'd like to learn more about adding logos to your labels with these apps, you can check out ShipStation's help doc on branded labels here, and ShippingEasy's help doc here.
If you don't want to change your store name altogether and simply want to remove the "Jewelry" part from the shipping labels, then it would definitely be worth considering either of these apps for the customizations they offer. However, I should note that these apps require a feature called Carrier Calculated Shipping. This feature is included in Shopify's Advanced plan. It's also included on any plan if you switch to annual billing. Alternatively, you can add it to your monthly plan for an additional $20 per month.
If you are wanting to avoid using an app, then I recommend adding your logo to your packing slip instead. You can edit your packing slip templates through Shopify and this is where most merchants choose to place their logo. To do this, you'll need to add an image to your packing slip template. This will involve some custom coding, but we have some information on how to add images to packing slip templates here.
Aside from customizing your packing slip, you could also consider adding a logo sticker to your packages. I actually discussed branded packing with another merchant in the Shopify Community earlier this year, and shared some recommendations for them. Feel free to check out that post here.
I hope I've answered your questions but let me know if you require any clarity! I'm also curious to know which shipping carriers you're currently using and whether you've been using Shopify Shipping to purchase and print shipping labels.
Looking forward to your response!
