How can I set local delivery rates by weight in Shopify?

Hi. I'm using the built in Shopify local delivery for a coffee shop. But since the shipping pricing is by weight, we want the local delivery rates to match, but can only set local by price. Anyone know why or if there is a work around? (without an app?)

One of my client is facing a similar issue. It's really sad that Shopify staff does not take much time to read the forum and provide an answer whether it's possible or not, or if they will at least fill a ticket to ask their developers if it's something they can implement in the future. It is what it is. In the meantime, I know you asked for no application, but it seems this app could do what you ask : https://apps.shopify.com/click-and-collect

As it says: "Conditional pickup, delivery or shipping based on order total or weight"

You'll have to try it out but if I'm reading correctly it does just that.
