Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Greetings!
I am trying to set up free shipping within ~500 miles (we still have a carrier deliver, but eat the cost) and a surcharge for everything else (we add the difference based on location). Nothing within the shipping settings is intuitive - any ideas? Thanks
Greetings, @pahhniwater ,
Utilizing Shopify's flat rate shipping allows you to set varying rates for distinct shipping zones.
It's important to note that Shopify's zone granularity is at the state level, making the 500-mile limit potentially impractical.
Our suggested approach is to offer free shipping to a designated list of nearby states or solely to the state where the shop is located.
For more precise control, employing an app with the capability to define zones based on pin codes would be necessary.
Hello @pahhniwater ,
Choose the countries and states you wish to include in the zone.
If rates vary for each state, kindly establish a separate zone for each with corresponding rates.
Hi Mirdas,
Thanks for the advice. Once I pick U.S., Alabama, save, then go back in to do the next state, it says "United States in another zone" and is greyed out (can't click on it)...any ideas? I've also tried groups of states (similar to shipping zones). Appreciate the help, thank you!
Hello @pahhniwater ,
It means exactly the same as "United States in another zone"; you cannot have the same country/state combination in different zones.
