Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have been unable to update my account with my details, I’ve added my passport but it’s asking for a utility bill for the business , I sell beauty products my address is a business mailbox for product returns and letters but is on all my labels as I don’t have an actual shop. So I don’t any utility bills.
How can I get around this ?
Hello @Felix_Robinson!
Ivy here from Shopify.
The documents being requested would be for the named account owner rather than for the business itself - i.e The utility bill would be one in your name, for your home address. The reason for this is that we are making updates to our onboarding requirements, which is a common practice; all other businesses and payments providers, like Shopify Payments, must ensure that we are compliant with local regulations. Inputs into these updates include regulatory changes, financial partner requirement changes, card network requirements, and an assessment of our customer portfolio against our company's risk program. This review is to ensure we're taking the right steps to help keep the financial services ecosystem healthy. As these reviews will happen periodically, we've updated our products and created new tools to help you identify and collect new information when needed.
The utility bill being requested will have to be in the name of the account owner for the store, and must show your address of residence. It must be dated from within the last 12 weeks to accepted. I hope this helps to clarify what is needed and why, if you have any more queries on this please do let me know!
Thanks, Ivy.
