Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello all!
I'm exploring adding a crypto payment gateway to my store. I know that for US merchants, there are a few options. But my question is if I add the cryptocurrencies payment option, do users connect their crypto wallets to my store, or do they just do it when paying in the checkout?
I ask this because I want to know if I can interact with the user's wallets by adding the crypto integrations.
Customers use crypto wallets at checkout by selecting the crypto payment option, then sending the exact amount to a wallet address or scanning a QR code provided by your payment gateway (like Coinbase Commerce or BitPay). Their wallet (e.g., MetaMask, Trust Wallet) handles the transaction, and once it's confirmed on the blockchain, your store gets notified. You don’t directly connect to or interact with their wallets unless you build a Web3-specific integration (e.g., using WalletConnect), which isn’t required for standard payments.
