Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have my new site set up for flat rate shipping. My question is this - if I want to print my shipping labels and postage through shopify, how do I get it to calculate the actual shipping costs I will pay. Will I be able to manually input the box size and weight and choose the apprpriate USPS or UPS rate when I print the label?
Hey, @Vjdtx.
Thank you for reaching out!
Yes, you can definitely print your shipping labels through Shopify and take advantage of the discounts we provide. When you click create a shipping label, you will be able to add a package and then enter the package's total weight. You will then get a list of shipping rates to choose from. If you have a lot of shipments this process could be time-consuming. To be more efficient, you can enter each product's weight on their individual product page in the shipping section. This way, when you click create a label, the rates will be automatically calculated, and a list of shipping rates will appear. This option does require some work upfront by adding in the weight of each product, but it does save you from having to weigh each shipment as you get them. Either way, you will purchase and print your shipping labels through Shopify.
Please let me know if you have any further questions! I would love to learn about your business. Are you new to Shopify? What types of products do you sell?

Hi, @Vjdtx.
Congratulations! That is so exciting, and your products sound very lovely. I would be happy to look at your store and offer any feedback I may have if you would like? I will just need your URL. I also wanted to share a beginners' guide to Shopify Shipping video with you that I think will be super helpful in learning the basics of how shipping works on Shopify.
