Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I am trying to attach my Click & Drop account from Royal Mail , to my store on shopify. But I am getting an error:
Oauth error invalid_request: Your account does not have permission to grant the requested access for this app. You may be able to resolve this issue by installing the app as the account owner
Not sure how to fix this, I get this error when I put the shop URL in click and Drop Integration section. Any idea?
Thanks
Hey, @fragranzaUk.
Tira here to help.
Thanks for posting the error that you’re seeing when you try to add this to your store. Are you trying to add an app to your store? The reason I ask is because this error is expected and will appear when you try to add an app to your store, but don’t have the staff permissions. Staff permissions allow store owners to grant staff members access to areas of their store without giving access to sensitive information. Check out our help doc for a detailed explanation here: Staff permissions.
If you’re a staff member on the store, you will need to reach out to the account owner to grant you access to app permissions, then you will be able to install and manage apps on the store. Are you able to reach out to the account owner for help?
If you reach out to the account owner for help, then I recommend passing along our help docs to the account owner on adding staff permissions for staff accounts:
Full permissions - You would receive permissions for all of the functions available in the store except for those that only the store owner can access. Full permissions include:
General - Home, Orders, Draft orders, Products, Gift cards, Customers, Reports, Dashboards, Marketing, Discounts, Apps, Settings
Online store - Themes, Blog posts and pages, Navigation, Domains
Locations - Manage locations
App and channel access - Access to all apps is given by default (This is available Shopify Plus stores.)
Point of Sale - Manage and perform actions related to selling in person.
General permissions - The account owner can choose to give you general permissions to the store’s permissions, like apps.
You can find all of our descriptions in our help doc here: Description of staff permissions. The account owner of the store can follow the steps listed in our help doc to give you these permissions: Give staff permissions to your store.
Once you’ve had the permissions added to your account, you should be able to add in and manage apps on the store. If the account owner doesn’t want to add these permissions for you, then the account owner will need to add the app themselves to the store. Here's a related thread with someone who had the same error: Shopify App using oAuth requires store owner that you might want to check out.
I would love to know if this helps.

Hi Tira,
I am trying to connect from the Royal Mail web site. Under my royal mail account I got option for market place integration :
After selecting "Shopify" I put my store Shopify store address "https://xxxxx.myshopify.com/" and click Connect then I get this error message. I am the store owner, not sure why I am having this issue. The only thing I can think of is, my royal mail account is on a different email address, could this be the issue? if it how to fix it.
Please help.
Thanks
Thanks for the additional details and screenshot, @fragranzaUk. This is helpful!
I searched our App Store but was unable to find this app. It looks like this is a third-party integration, so I recommend reaching out to Royal Mail directly to ask if they have any insight on this for you. I recommend copying and pasting the link to this thread so that they can have the full scope of what you’re looking to do. Here is their page with more information about their shipping. You can also contact them using their contact page here: Contact Royal Mail.
I have also looked into this error with your specific situation with our technical team. I am waiting to hear from them. Once I have an update, I will follow-up on this thread.
Cheers,
