Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello all, I'm new to the business and am wondering how do I know if I have all the shipping information set correctly? My understanding is that when a customer orders through Shopify, I receive the order and place it with my supplier, then the supplier ships the order to my customer. Am I correct, or is there more to it than that? Any advise is greatly appreciated. I am in Canada!
Hi @Aaronscoffee,
It sounds like you're dropshipping, and that you have essentially got the basic premise correct:
1. Customer places an order on your site and pays. At this point you collect money from the customer for the order and the shipping, so you will want to ensure that your shipping rates are set up correctly in your store.
2. You then confirm the order with the supplier through whatever dropshipping app you are using (check out our ultimate guide on dropshipping to understand the fulfillment process).
3. You return to your store to mark the order as fulfilled, thereby sending notifications to your customer!
What are you selling? And what dropshipping app are you using?
