How do I get my PO Box on my Shipping labels and not Street Address?

• I've updated my General Settings address with my PO Box, but street address is still populating in the return address on my shipping labels.

• I can only turn on or off the 'shipping from' in my Shipping Settings and it is showing my street address, but doesn't not give me the ability to change the address.

• What am I missing here?

This is an accepted solution.

For those who are having issues, my postal service worker told me to use the street address of the post office (or whenever your PO Box is located), then put the PO BOX # in the “unit/apt/suite” field.

 

not sure if that’s been answered already or not but I don’t feel like reading this entire thread to find out, and it worked for me!🙂

Hi Elias,  I also have the same problem.  I included the PO Box ##### in the "address bar", I then placed the PO Box #### in the "apartment, suite bar".  But nothing is working.  I am located in Australia so not sure if that makes a difference.

Hey, @LindyM.

Thank you for joining the thread! It shouldn't make a difference with Australian addresses. Can you check if the address can be verified by leaving the "Apartment, suite, etc" field empty? 

Example Format:

PO Box 2239
City, State/Province, Postal/Zip Code

Hi Elias,

Thanks for your response but I need to clarify a few points:

1.  I was able to successfully add my PO Box.  However, by adding the PO Box, Sendle within shopify will not allow me to ship the item because it is not physical address.  I opted for dropping off the parcel at one of the sendle locations but I am still unable to generate a Sendle Shipping Label because I do not have a physical address rather I have a PO Box.

2.  The issue is - we do not want customers to see our residential address which appears on the Sendle Shipping Label, we want the PO Box number to appear.  However, Sendle integrated within Shopify appears to deny you the option of doing this if you do not have a physical address.

3. If dealing directly with Sendle they have the option of hiding your residential address from the customer, where is this functionality within the shopify and sendle integration?

Thanks for the follow-up!

I now understand you are based in Australia. I've looked into the Sendle integration and I can confirm that Sendle does not support PO Boxes, which is mentioned in our guide for Sendle's shipping address eligibility. It's also worth mentioning that there are different locations for domestic and international pickups, which means you can be eligible for one but that doesn't mean you're eligible for the other. You can see their domestic pickup coverage here and international pickup coverage here.

That being said, I understand you'd like to hide your street address when booking via Shopify Shipping. This has now been logged as a feature request with the Shopify team and should it become available in the future we'll be sure to update our merchants.

Unfortunately, there is no way around it.  If using Sendle I have kept my address on the shipping label and black it out after I print it, which is not the most effective way.  However, there is no other option given that the Sendle feature of hiding your residential address and inserting the PO Box address is not available in the shopify/sendle integrations.

Sorry it wasnt better news - it is has been such a difficult issue to resolve.

Thanks so much for your reply and sharing your experience! Have you had any problems from the sendle pick up drivers or drop off locations with you blacking out your address on the sendle label? Did they reject the parcels sometimes? 

Looks like I might have to pay for an Australia post app and use australia post instead. Its a shame because the shopify / sendle integration otherwise was very good. Australia post apps are not so great with updating tracking numbers.

Hi, so does anyone get their solution as to how to add PO Box?  I tried everything and it wont work - says my PO box cant be verified. If I insist on using PO box, my online store says "theres no shipping option" at checkout. How do i resolve this??

Hi, Shopify customer service reps were no help after hours of back-and-forth. I ended up using the USPS address where my PO Box is, and including my PO Box number in the address. I've been doing this for 11 months with no issue.

Hi! After you put the post office address did you write the PO Box # on its own in the apartment/suite section? Or did you write “PO Box” and then the #?

There is no fix. Unfortunately it must work for some, but not for others. I have tried the address every possible way. No matter what I do, Shopify sees it as invalid and won't let customers check out if the PO Box is listed as my shipping origin. Very frustrating as my home address is going out on my labels.
