Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I know this is petty, but it's been driving me nuts. When I go to my admin section it shows I have 2 orders to fulfill. These orders are canceled and archived (they show up when I do the unfulfilled filter). I realize I can't delete them, but in my shopify app it shows I have those 2 orders waiting to be fulfilled and in my order page on my desktop it shows 2 orders.
Is there a way to mark them so I can just get rid of that number 2 in those places?
Haha I know what you mean, just want to complete the task.
What I've done is just mark them fulfilled. If you have a customer attached the order uncheck the box to send the email.
This doens't work for me. I click on Mark A Fulfilled, and it does not take the orders out of unfulfilled status. HELP!
Same, doesnt work...
Hi, @OriActive!
I’m Helen from Shopify Support. I totally understand your frustration! I’m happy to look closer into this for you to see what can be done about it.
The number showing next to your Orders tab indicates any open orders that still remain on your store. Archiving these orders should close them, and make that number go away.
I know you have already mentioned that your orders attributed to that number have been cancelled and archived, but if you wouldn’t mind, let’s double check on this so that we have a place to start with our troubleshooting.
From your Shopify admin, please click on Orders, and choose ‘Open’ from your orders list as seen below. This is going to show you the orders associated with the number seen on your Orders tab. Do you have any orders listed here?
If you do, please select all the orders, and choose to archive them from the ‘Actions’ dropdown as seen below:
Once these open orders have been archived, it can take a few minutes for any changes to take effect. Refreshing your page can help too.
Please let me know the outcome on your end. Hopefully your orders are no longer showing as open. But if they are, we can proceed with the next steps towards figuring out why!

Thanks - that worked! I had looked at unfulfilled orders (not open orders) and tried to fulfill and archive those. The 2 open orders that were causing the problem were ones that were partially refunded and once I archived those it went away.
Thank you!
Mary
Wonderful! I’m so glad we were able to get this sorted out for you.
