Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello all!! I have reservations about clicking the multi origin shippingoption that can't be undone. I'd like to know if I activate multi-origin for pick-ups that it's not a disadvantage. I have one address currently, however, i need the flexibility to add other addresses that will possibly change over time due to pick up locations when e-commerce products are mobile. Please advise.
Hi @AlleyMcB! Thanks for this great question. I'm looking forward to seeing the advice you receive!
To offer local pickup (and/or new shipping origins), you will want to activate multi-origin shipping. For a little more context, we recommend multi-origin shipping for stores that:
One thing to be aware of if you wish to use multiple shipping profiles is how your shipping rates may be combined at checkout. Definitely don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about that!

I'm interested in this as well. I want to offer local pickup at my ONE location. I don't plan on adding more in the foreseeable future. But I am also hesistent about unexpected ramifications of selected multi-origin shipping that can't be undone.
In other words, I don't want anything to change (1 online store, 1 shipping origin, etc.) except that people can select local pickup.
Is that possible?

Hi @yogiTeamonger,
As per my understanding, you want to provide local pickup for one address and different shipping services for other addresses. Is this what you are asking?
Yes, that’s really all i want is to offer pick up however i know my locations for pick up would change often. I want to give that option on my store. My shipping from location would stay the same always.
I was hoping there would be more replies to this but I have a similar issue.. We have a fufillment center but I want to ship some items out of our business office at times, for special orders or short run products. I don't want to activate an irreversible option if its going to be more effort than its worth.. If anyone else has any thoughts I would enjoy hearing them..
Hi,
We at Fenix Commerce can support multi-location shipping - without the hassle of combining the shop costs. In addition, we support Estimated Delivery Dates on the PDP, Cart & Checkout pages - that helps to lift conversions
In case of any queries - do get back to us .
Regards
HI, MAybe you can help me, we have done the multi origin shipping and it has totallly messed up our shipping and fulfiment options.
We have two locations and pick from both but we didn't want to pass any cost on to the customer because we do all the work behind the scenes.
We had an issue with our sage pay when they heightened security which meant that cards were being declined, so we swapped to shopify pay, that then meant that people were being put through straight away with no delivery charge so pick up for free only, we had to email everyome and ask them to pay
then someone said to turn on multi ship - so we did but now if anyone places an order that includes items from both locations they get charged twice.
And if they want to pick up they can't
So it is now causing real problems and stopping orders coming through - is there a way you can help?
Thanks
Ok got it! So in this case it may be the reverse… my shipping location will always stay the same however my pick locations would change more often. I’d like to put in the address of pick up where the items can be picked up by showing a confirmation number. EX: order food truck food online then pick up from that present location of that food truck that hour/day
hello!! I have a warehouse in the UK which I have set up my shipping for but I also have a warehouse in the USA where i would like to sell from to the US market...how do I set this up please?
