Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hey everyone! Brand new here. I use printify, so my orders say “paid” and are being fulfilled currently. How long until the money comes into my account from the sale? Trying to see how long orders are going to take in the future because I can’t front the money of every sale and wait to receive actual payment from the transaction. Also, anyone else have issues with PayPal and them putting things on hold until the customer receives the product?
Hey, @KingD!
Julie here from Shopify Support.
First off, welcome to the Shopify Community! It's great to see that you've already had some orders come through.
When it comes to getting paid, when you receive your payout really depends on the payment gateway you're using. If you're using a third-party gateway (like PayPal, for example), then they'll be responsible for getting your payouts to you. If you aren't sure when you'll be receiving your payouts, then you'll need to check in with your third-party gateway directly. PayPal Support should also be able to answer any questions you may have about your funds being held.
If you're using Shopify Payments, you can check your pay period in Settings > Payments > View payouts to see how often you'll get paid. There, you'll also be able to see your previous and upcoming payouts, along with the estimated date you'll get paid. Pay periods typically vary by country and can range anywhere between 2-4 business days.
With Shopify Payments, you can also choose to create a payment schedule if you would prefer to be paid in regular intervals. Keep in mind that the funds might not appear in your bank account right after they're sent. Banks typically take between 24-72 hours to process deposits to your bank account.
It's totally understandable that it can be difficult to fulfill orders if you haven't yet received your payout. For this reason, it's important that business owners have a financial plan and a reserve of funds set aside so that orders can be fulfilled in a timely fashion. To help you out with this, we actually have a blog post called, "How Financial Planning Can Help You Achieve Your Business Growth Goals". This blog post offers some excellent advice on how to ensure financial preparedness so you can successfully grow your business.
I hope I've answered your question, but please let me know if you need anything else!
