Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a way of automatically sending the packing slip with the fulfilment request that goes to our third-party supplier? At the moment we have to save the packing slip and send in a separate email, while the fulfilment request is automatically sent.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Ele
I'm starting to think other platforms have this kind of stuff built in, and Shopify is deferring to less efficient and business-adaptive, user-friendly ways. Have you looked at any apps?
Hi, my app Simple Purchase Orders can definitely meet your shop's needs.
It allows you to set up suppliers and import products and set cost prices. You can then automatically generate purchase orders from orders your customers make and it will import all of the items they order and their address and email it to your supplier. This should help you reduce time spent fulfilling orders and eliminate mistakes. The PO can then be used as the basis for the packing slip
Please check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
I've been able to achieve this with the Order Printer & Order Printer Emailer apps. Super simple to include a link to download an auto-generated packing slip PDF.
My issue has been feeding the URL of that PDF through to a private app's API, but if you don't need that, those 2 apps should work just fine 🙂
Hello @ekelaher,
Which carrier you are using to fulfill the order?
If you are using FedEx, then the FedEx Rates, Labels & Tracking app would be the perfect solution. The app will help you automatically generate the packing slip while gererating the FedEx label. With the app, you can display FedEx rates at checkout and also handle FedEx tracking.
If i may ask why are you looking to send packing slip to third party shippers. You can use the Multi carrier Shipping label app, give access to your third party guys to the app so they can put their carrier account credentials, generate labels, generate packing slips by themselves and use it.
Ele,
We are in the same boat. We have multiple suppliers within the US that drop ship for us all using different shipping. So not one of the suggestions so far sounds effective. I even tried turning Shopify's Fulfillment request into the packing slip. Cloning the look... but I am not that technically savvy.
Any suggestions out there in Shopify land would be very much appreciated but only those that actually don't add to my currently overloaded schedule. 😉
Thank you,
Sharon
