Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
We are using Amazon MCF for fulfilling our orders. When an order contains more than 1 item, Amazon will package/ship the items separately. We get an email with a subject like "A portion of your order has shipped".
The issue we have is that Amazon will only send the tracking number of whatever item was packaged first to Shopify (this is typically a standard USPS tracking link). The other items in the order usually get packed up and shipped soon after, however Amazon does not seem to send this tracking information to our customers, since it seems to think this task has been completed already. The customers are left with 1 tracking number, and they are confused when only 1 item shows up to their door (the other items are usually on their way, they just don't know it).
We have a manual workaround that when we get the email from Amazon that a portion has shipped, we manually send the customer a link to the internal Amazon SWISHIP tracking number that is provided to us in our seller portal (the links work publicly) since these links contain all the separate packages contained in the order along with their individual tracking.
Has anyone experienced this or have an automated solution/fix?
Has anyone seen this "issue" before or have any suggestions? As we grow, it's getting harder to keep up with a manual workaround.
