I am trying to set up international shipping to new countries, but I don't know the right way of going about this and also showing the carriers at the same time?
I don't want to make an error setting this up, also setting up the taxes and import taxes and such.
I would also like the shipping cost to be displayed in checkout and on the product pages I'd like the taxes and shipping cost to be displayed there too. I'm registered for taxes in michigan so I collect taxes in michigan but I'm not sure about everywhere else or if I have my taxes set up correctly either.
I'm wanting to make sure I do it all correctly to avoid a mistake thank you.
To set up international shipping on your Shopify store, follow these steps:
From your Shopify admin dashboard, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
Click on the "Create new shipping zone" button to add a new shipping zone.
Select the countries you want to ship to in the "Zone regions" section.
Choose the carriers you want to use for shipping to those countries in the "Shipping rates at checkout" section. You can either use Shopify Shipping or third-party carriers like DHL, UPS, and FedEx.
Set up the shipping rates for each carrier based on weight, price, or destination.
If you want to display the shipping costs on your product pages, you can use a third-party app like "Shipping Rates Calculator+" or "Advanced Shipping Rules".
To set up taxes for international orders, you can use Shopify's built-in tax calculator or a third-party app like "AvaTax" or "TaxJar". You will need to research the tax laws in each country you are shipping to and configure the tax rates accordingly.
It's important to double-check all the information you enter when setting up shipping and taxes to avoid errors. You can also consider consulting with a Shopify expert or a tax professional to ensure everything is set up correctly.
