How to correctly set up USPS Media Mail shipping rates in my store?

I'm looking for direction on how to properly set up shipping rates in my store. I ship primarily via USPS Media Mail. It appears the rate to ship should currently be $3.49 via the USPS web site and Shopify Shipping calculator for a Media Mail package between 1-2 lbs. . My example is shipping from IL to OH. However, shopify is charging my store $4.83. I must have loaded incorrectly. Can someone clarify what I'm doing wrong in my store setup? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Also, Is there supposed to be a Shopify discount vs what I can get walking into my local USPS?
