How to handle refunds efficiently with alternative UK merchant banks?

Hi

I wonder if you can help. 

We signed up with Shopify payments but it is really painful that they sit on the funds for 3-5 days, it is impossible to run an eccomerce store with payout times like this!.

We now swapped to Elavon (sagepay ) of cause Shopify will have their 1 percent cut, not sure what is that for really.

However sagepay doesn't support any refunds though, and now partial card refund sitting in Shopify, need manual sagepay refund.

Is this really real that in 2021 you have to do manual journals for all of your refunds with Shopify?

I just can't believe this. I a sure I am not alone with my issues, and I wonder how people deal with their refunds if they more away from Shopify payments.

Looks like im a loser either way?

What merchant can anyone recommend in the UK, who won't charge 2% and how do you deal with hundreds of transactions if the system is so limited???
