Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
hi
For each product i have written in a word document the placement of the product in my warehouse. is it possible to have this informaiton in shopify?
Lets take an example:
I have a product that is on shelve 7. When i have an order it would be nice if shopify can tell me where to find the product
I have asked shopify for help and they told me to write the placement in a tag or in the barcode field. But im wondering if theres an better way.
Hey, @mcfirelord
I would recommend using your SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) product field to use as a way to locate inventory. SKU code should help you identify the exact product variant you are looking for and you can even incorporate its warehouse location. Therefore, you should incorporate information on color, type, size, and other similar attributes into the SKU. This saves you time in decoding the SKU during everyday operations. For example, if your product list includes a chair that comes in various sizes and colors then the following would be a good SKU code: CHR-S-BK-I2-S7 (Chair, Small, Black, Isle 2, Shelf 7).
I hope this helps! If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
