How to manage shipping details as a home-based business without disclosing address?

Hi There,

I will be new to the Shopify platform and just wondering if there are any home based businesses out there that use Shopify and what details do you use for your shipping address as a home based business.  I do not want to disclose the address working from home for privacy reasons.  I also do not want to costs of a PO Box or Virual Business Address.  How does anyone out there manage their shipping details without disclosure of your address.  Thanks

Hi @AngChan, 

I absolutely understand your privacy concerns. I just wanted to clarify that when you input your shipping details into your store admin, that is not displayed publicly. The reason we ask for that address internally is two-fold:

1. For ID verification purposes
2. In case you as a merchant choose Carrier Calculated Shipping or Shopify Shipping, in which case the costs will need to be calculated against the shipping origin address. 

This is not shown to your customers and is highly safeguarded and protected by Shopify's data protection measures and our fantastic account security protocols. 

What kind of business are you starting? Have you started building your store yet?
