Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have a business that we ship out Frozen and none frozen Items. When shipping frozen we need to use a insulated bag and such to make sure it hold temperature during shipping and we have a added fee to cover the extra shipping costs in a shipping profile with all frozen items in it.
We can ship both frozen and none frozen together but it doubles the shipping cost to the customer, but only adds it to 1 label and my cost is not as high.
How can I avoid the double shipping when both types are ordered together, but still keep it that if 1 or more frozen items are ordered the extra shipping cost is added?

I was able to solve my issue with using a app called Shipoff: Shipping Discount.
https://apps.shopify.com/shipoff-shipping-discount?st_source=autocomplete
All items are now in the same shipping profile, but when a item that is non-frozen that does not require a extra shipping fee for the added shipping packaging the extra fee is discounted off the shipping.
If a Frozen item is only purchased the full extra fee is added.
and then is both a frozen and non-frozen item is purchased there is no discount applied as well.
It is a work around and can set multiple rules.
and it is a fix for only $3.99 a month
If products from multiple shipping profiles are added to the cart, then the shipping rates will be combined. There is no way to solve this issue.
Alternatively, you can configure only one shipping profile and use either weight-based or price-based shipping rates.
How is that a answer that I cannot be done or just put it together.
The main reason I switched to shopify was to fix this issue with my last ecom site that had a shipping fee added to all or none.
Why should I charge my customer a added fee when not ordering a frozen item and doesn't require extra packaging for shipping.
I also do not understand why I cannot have a option to turn on or off the shipping profiles from both being charged a shipping rate and then giving that combined to a customer.
Shopify is putting both shipping profile items together in the order as if its going in 1 box and defaults a shipping label that way as well when I buy it from shopify. Yet the customer is charged a higher shipping cost that I am not and it is essentially extra money made that I do not want the customer to incur and leading to a lot of abandoned carts.
Hey @thek9shop
When more than 1 profile is created, Shopify will split the carts into "sub-carts," and each cart gets the rate assigned to it in the Profile, and then added together at checkout. Which generally leads to higher shipping rates.
Unfortunately, the way it is set up, this can't be an easy fix natively on Shopify. Your solution can be found in a third-party rating app (such as ours, Intuitive Shipping). Our app allows you to have as many Scenarios (like Profiles, but with even more control) that can work independently or together. Please do note, that Shopify requires a mandatory Third Party Calculated Carrier Rate to be enabled, and depending on your Shopify plan level could have a cost of $20 per month.
If you have any questions on anything, please don't hesitate to reach out. I will try my best to answer what I can.

For an additional $70 a month to use your app, that is not a realistic solution.
Just looking to either have it charge a additional fee for the added shippaging materials need to ship a frozen item so if 1 or more of specific items are ordered then there is a extra fee.
Or with my current setup of 2 shipping profiles to only charge the shipping on the frozen profile I created.
Hey @thek9shop
I understand that seeing the price can be daunting. If you break it down, $70 for 500 completed orders (meaning paid) costs only $0.14 per order, and Shopify already charges 30¢ per order. Our app also allows many different box sizes, which can drastically change the shipping price (in either direction since carriers ship by DIM weight). The value our app holds outweighs the price point since all software is available to any user at any plan level.
Based on what you are experiencing, having Frozen and Non-Frozen in Shopify solely, you could possibly amend the weight of the Frozen food items to account for extra packaging? It may not be the best solution, but editing the shipping weight of the product could help.
Even if you have questions about your Shopify setup, I can jump on a call with you to help you.

Hello @thek9shop
It is unfortunate that Shopify combines shipping rates when your cart contains items from multiple shipping profiles. If you opt to use an app and want to keep the profiles, we might be able to help you with our app JsRates. This requires a custom solution specifically designed for your store. Alternatively, if you tag your frozen and non-frozen products (and put all products in a single shipping profile), our app can easily calculate the accurate shipping fee.
As mentioned in the previous comment, you will need the Third Party Calculated Carrier Rate activated on your store. If you are keen, please contact us to discuss further; we will help you with the setup.
