How to print shipping labels to Dymo 5XL

I have a new store and am fulfilling my first order. I bought a Dymo Labelwriter 5XL since that was listed on Shopify’s site as a support shipping label printer.

Are there instructions for how to print to the Dymo from Shopify? When I click on the button in Shopify to print a shipping label, a new window pops up that shows a 4x6 label on half of a letter size page. I’m not sure what to do with that from there. How do I get it to print to my Dymo printer?

To clarify - I have already downloaded the Dymo drivers/software and have the software set up on my laptop. I am able to print from the Dymo app (ie: I copied in a test image to the 4x6 template and printed, and it worked fine).

Hi @Dalma3,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'd be happy to provide some assistance with this request.

While the Dymo 5XL is not currently listed as one of Shopify's supported shipping label printers, you should be able to follow this guide to print labels from the Shopify admin. If however, you're experiencing any troubles with this, please feel free to connect with us directly. This will allow our support team to get you authenticated, as we wouldn't have access to any account details here through the Community!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I am having the same issue and did not get anywhere by directly asking Shopify to help.  Can you shed any more light on this?  I can get to a few of these directions, but then I do not have the option to change to 300dpi.  However I believe that the 5XL is already set at that.   Would really love to figure this out.   Thanks so much!  -Kevin
