Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
We sell our products to the Netherlands and Belgium.
So at the checkout there is a selection to select between those 2 country's.
Is there a setting some where where you can make one country the standard selection?
Why this is important:
Most of the people in Netherland pay with IDEAL.
This is a payment method that is only available for the Netherlands.
At this very moment the standard selection is Belgium. (I believe this is because Alphabetical reasons? 'B' is before 'N').
The problem at first glance for my Netherland customers now is that there is no option available to pay with IDEAL. (when someone from Netherlands visit the checkout unless they start to fill in country "Netherlands" than the IDEAL option is popping up.)
I believe this is making my conversion rate drop.
The most of my customers are from the Netherlands so i wish to select this as the standard country.
In this way all payment methods are shown directly.
If someone from Belgium visit, it doesn't matter that the Netherlands is the standard option they can change easy by selecting the country of destination.
Someone know how to fix this?

Currently, there is no way to adjust the order that your countries appear in your checkout. The order is determined by multiple factors internally, not just alphabetical reasoning. You could try using the Theme Content Editor to replace some of the default language that appears in your checkout to let your customers from the Netherlands know that IDEAL is available to them for use, but this would require some exploration of the tool on your part to determine where you would like to make this change, and what default theme content would best be edited to include this information.
We've received loads of feedback around this feature request, so I'm happy to add yours to that mix! I'll go ahead and fill out a feedback form on your behalf right now. I can't promise what the outcome of passing along this feedback will be, but you can trust it'll get seen by the folks that need to see it internally.
