How to stop stacking across shipping profiles

I sell art prints and home decor such as candles, currently to UK only but hoping to expand to other countries.

I would like to start selling in US, but only the art prints and not candles.

The only way I can think of doing this this is to put the candles on a separate shipping profile only for UK.

However, now if a customer in the UK buys an art print and a candle, the shipping cost is double stacked, rather than just charging the higher shipping cost.

I can't think of how to get around this so any help would be appreciated!
