Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Admin -> Settings -> Notifications
We'd like to use our shipping software or email marketing software to send out our shipping confirmation emails vs the built-in Shopify one. Mainly because it's easier to design in these vs Shopify only offering to code or use an app.
There's "if you select this option" on the description, but no tick box to turn it on/off like you can for out-for-delivery/delivered emails.
If we move forward with our shipping/email software to send these out, customers will receive duplicate emails (Shopify and 3rd party). How can I turn OFF the Shopify shipping confirmation emails? Ideally, we'd like to do this with Order Confirmation emails too.

Thanks for reaching out with your question. Firstly, it is not possible to disable the order confirmation email. It is fully automated and is sent to the customer as soon as they complete their checkout. You can customize the email notification if you want it to look a different way.
You can't disable the shipping notification email in the Notifications section of your admin, but you can opt not to send it when fulfilling orders. If you fulfill your orders automatically, then you just need to leave this box unchecked in Settings > Checkout and accounts:
If you fulfill your orders manually, either by marking them as fulfilled yourself or thorugh buying a shipping label directly from the Shopify admin, then you just need to leave this box unchecked when completing fulfillment:
This will prevent any shipping notifications from being triggered and sent from Shopify. You can then use your shipping notifications from your third-party service without worrying about duplicate emails.

@Victor, thanks for the reply. However, this is not feasible. We do not "automatically fulfill the order's line items" until the order has shipped. It is not feasible to go in and uncheck the "send shipment details to your customer now" box for every order we ship out as the tracking is automatically pushed to Shopify via ShipRush.

Right, I see. Is this something you've spoken to the ShipRush team about? The shipment notification cannot be disabled altogether from within Shopify, so I would recommend asking them if there is a way to stop the shipment notification being checked by default when orders are fulfilled using their service.
