Increase functionality of Product in Shipping Profiles (and other places - but let's start here)?

Can we add filters when setting up Shipping Profiles, please? The functionality already exists in the main Admin for viewing products, so why can't that be ported into this sub area?

Case: When a store has a variety of products like hats, shirts, accessories, shoes, boots, sunglasses, etc. - there are usually different packaging requirements and limitations to service(s) due to size, weight, etc.

Since Shopify won't allow us to assign packages to products natively, can we at least get a better filtering process within the Shipping Profile -> Products, please? That would let people group products in a more accessible way and then set different rates based on size, weight, etc.

The current method of typing in the product title is too tedious. For those of us with large catalogs is an undertaking that requires many hours to accomplish due to creating and verifying that we didn't miss anything in the process.

100% agree, this should definitely be a built-in feature.

In case this helps anyone: The search function searches across all product data fields. So if you add some very specific labels in a meta field or the tags, and then search by that text in quotation marks, you should be able to find those products.

Example:

  1. Add the tag (or use a metafield) "Shipping Profile: Local Pickup Only" to a product. I tested this with a tag, but I think a metafield should work just the same.
  2. Go to the shipping profile for local pick up only and search for the text you added to the tag. DO include quotation marks around it. Example: "Shipping Profile: Local Pickup Only"
  3. The search should now pull up all products that you have added that specific tag to, and only those products.
  4. Scroll down in the list until products stop loading. If you have hundreds or thousands of products that you've added this tag to, then you may have to scroll down multiple times.
  5. Check the check box to select all visible products. If you didn't scroll down all the way to the bottom it won't select the products that haven't been loaded yet.
  6. Add these products to the shipping profile.

In terms of removing products in bulk from a shipping profile though, I guess you could add a "Remove Shipping Profile: xxxxx" tag?
