Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hey all,
I've got a store which uses a drop shipping app for fulfillment of online orders (dsers).
I also hold some of the same products in stock locally.
These products should have inventory from the dropshipping supplier and at my location.
The drop ship inventory is for online orders (delivery)
The "my location" stock is for collection only (click & collect / collect in store)
My dilemma is that I am unable to assign my products inventory locations for both the fulfillment app & home location.
It's not giving me the option of multiple locations. I think this is because the fulfillment app is set up as an app rather than location in the locations section of the settings.
Anyone know how I can fix this? Only option seems to be adding extra variants based on stock location or a separate product listing, which is not super ideal.
Thanks in advance
I´m trying to accomplish the same structure.
- Inventory 1 = App Dsers for most products (dropshipping)
- Inventory 2 = Local inventory for fast shipping for a few top seller products
I´d like to create this second inventory and also define the shipping rates specifically for the products inside this inventory, for faster shipping for example.
I also think the problem is due to Dsers integration, it limits somehow other locations to work independently.
I´ve found one workaround but didn´t test fully for any flaws.
Inside Dsers (Settings > General Settings > Product > Product fulfillment service management) you can uncheck "shopify-fulfillment-service", and leave only "dsers-fulfillment-service" enabled.
This way, you can go back to Shopify > Product and choose the variants you want to change the location for your local inventory.
And then you can go to Shopify > Inventory management and check for the products/variants available, than edit the quantity manually for each product.
As I said, don´t know all implications in doing this. For example, if my local inventory goes to zero, my product will show as "out of stock". But the best way would be if Dsers was used as a backup inventory to replace my local inventory when it goes to zero.
