Is my payout email confirmation for $514.33 legitimate?

Hi, I received an email saying I’m getting a payout in 1-2 business days. Wanted to check if it’s true. The idea number is 72166178948 for $514.33 . Ty

Great question! While we do not have access to your account specifically from the forums here ourselves, I would be happy to explain how payouts work!

When using payment providers on your store, the payments need time to be processed, so there is usually a delay between when the customer pays for their order and when you receive the payment. After the payment is completed and processed, the purchase amount will be transferred to your merchant account. If you use other payment providers like PayPal for example, they would have their own process of getting money from the customer to you. In this case, you would need to get in touch with the payment provider themselves and check how long their process might take.

When using Shopify Payments, the length of your pay period depends on the country where your store is based, have a look at our help doc here to determine the timeframe for your region. Payouts typically take 2 or more days, from the date of the order, to be paid out, depending on your country. Please bear in mind, it can take a few days for the payout to be processed by the bank. We have no control over this, as this would depend on your bank's processing times individually, so it is a good idea to check with them how long their processing times may take.
