Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
Me and my partner have been using shopify for a few years now, in particular on one store we own which has proceeded to do particularly well over the last few months, we have scaled with our ad budget e.t.c and kept receiving more orders everyday...
However we have had to change to a one page checkout via shopify, in doing so our CVR has dropped considerably, We have attempted to following:
- Added Free Shipping
- Deleted and re-added shipping profiles
- Added new payment methods (from looking at customer purchases, all payment methods seem to work okay)
- Attempted to checkout ourselves on multiple occasions in order to replicate the issue
- Talked to customers ourself over the phone or email, which did specify they had issues with checking out, however due to there elderly age, they we're not able to specify the exact issue
- Talked to shopify live chat, did not seem to help unfortunately.
- Added our own live chat onto our store to help with issues, which did not help.
As previously mentioned, we have owned a lot of shopify stores previously and we know this very well, so we believe this must be a shopify issue, as this only started to happen after 1 page checkout was released. Any help will be appreciated hugely, in fact we will be 100% open to pay people with a solution which is working.
Thanks again!

It sounds like you've been quite thorough in trying to address the checkout issue on your Shopify store. It's not uncommon for changes like moving to a one-page checkout to have unexpected impacts on customer behavior and conversion rates. Other merchants have reported similar challenges with the new single-page checkout system.
The good news is that Shopify has acknowledged this feedback from its user community. They are reintroducing the option to switch back to the traditional three-page checkout process. This flexibility could be the solution you're looking for, as it allows you to revert to the system that worked well for you in the past.
You can find more details about this update in this post from Shopify.
Hopefully, this change will help improve your conversion rate and provide a more familiar checkout experience for your customers.
Yeah, a very unfortunate event for my team here!
That's great news, I had heard this is going to happen soon with the 3 page checkout, hopefully this will solve our issue! I had a little browse on the thread and I saw it was supposed to be released 3 weeks ago? Is there any timeline or date publicly available for people awaiting this update sorry? Not being pushy just want to get stock prepared for when the orders increase once again! 🙂
Thank you very much for your reply Lee!
Hi @joeharnett29,
As far as I know, it should be released in the next few days. The post I linked to was published last Friday (the date formats on this forum are a little confusing) and it mentioned that the feature should be available "within the next week".
