Local pickup: Marking ready for pickup- pull inventory?

Hi,

Stock that is marked ready for pickup, is still beeing purchased online. For us its a major issue during sales and campaigns, where multiple customers purchase products that are waiting to be fulfilled. Is there a way where marking ready for pickup also deducts the inventory? Or is the only solution to preemtively mark as picked up,?
