Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have an online store that is really only used for our customers to browse from home & pickup their orders locally (i.e. we do not need the shipping function at checkout). We are having issues with customers not reading our policy and still ordering from other locations, which then means we have to refund these orders and contact customers to explain.
Is there a way to completely get rid of all shipping options and ONLY have local pickup at checkout? It seems people are still confused and order whether or not they live near our store. Wondering if this is where the "Physical Item" checkbox comes in to play in the product descriptions?
Thanks! 🔥

Hi, @SmokeandFire
Thanks for posting!
This is a common issue for local sellers. However, it's easy to solve!
To solve this issue you will simply need to create a Shipping Zone for your region. The only difference is you will not create any rates for this zone. This will allow your local customers to see the pickup option, and prevent everyone else from checking out.
It sounds like you already have your Shipping Zone in place, therefor, you will just need to remove the rates. To do so, head to Settings > Shipping and Delivery > Manage Rates > Edit Rate > Delete Rate.
Finally, you will want to make sure your Local Pickup & Delivery options are set up accordingly. You can use this document to check and if you have any questions, let me know!
In the meantime, I'd love to take a look at your store and see what additional support I can provide. When you have a moment, please provide your domain!
Hey, @SmokeandFire
No worries. You actually won't need to narrow it down further than Ontario. It will still work! It's also OK that you see that error. If you have local pick-up enabled it will work for those that fit within your pick-up region.
I do suggest, however, that you make it clear to your customers via the announcement bar or pop-up, that you only offer local pick-up. If you don't currently have a pop-up installed, I definitely recommend you check out Privy! It's also great for email notifications.
