Hi folks,
 
I’m sure others have been in this position before so hoping to get some insight!
 
Half of our business is for local customers and the other half for nationwide shipping. So, some of our products are for local customers only, and require the local pick up and delivery function.
 
Other products are for shipping only and I am looking for a way to effectively remove the  local delivery and pickup options from the checkout page when someone checks out with these products. I cannot make it so that they do not show up on the checkout page no matter how hard I try!
 
This will lead to serious confusion for our customers and many incorrect orders as you can imagine.
 
i don’t want to have to shut down our local offerings when running these shipping categories. Is there a way around this? Even if its a paid app it would be worthwhile.

This is an accepted solution.

It is possible to set up products for shipping profiles within the "Shipping and delivery" settings. There, you can create a shipping rate for local pickup. Would this meet your needs? Instead of using the "Local delivery" option, you can create shipping profiles where you can set rates or offer free pickup and assign products to each profile.

 

If you need to offer local delivery to parcel lockers or pickup points and your store is based in the EU then you can also try the ShipWisely: Parcel Lockers app to handle that.
