Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Is there a way to designate products as available instore only or not available on line - if a separate location is put in it then shows sold out or out of stock. We want all products visible on website so local customers are aware of what we carry and can come into the store to purchase, but do not want to ship the heavy furniture - we will deliver locally but not ship. Have contacted support and have received no answer. Would think this is a common issue for retailers and an easy fix. If left online and customer pays - shopify of course keeps the credit card fee when the customer is refunded because we do not ship the item so not having this availability either costs us or the items can not be depicted at all. All suggestions found so far do not work. Can anyone advise?
Hi @MarketStreet ,
Certainly, creating a new product template without a checkout button and featuring a WhatsApp or a contact form is a practical workaround for such products.
This enables users to express their interest or request more details by providing their information through the contact form. It offers a streamlined way to handle inquiries and ensures a tailored approach for products that don't follow the standard checkout process.
If you have any specific questions or if there's anything else you'd like to discuss about the implementation, feel free to let me know!
Hi, @MarketStreet!
That's a great suggestion, @gr_trading! Editing templates is a great solution if you would like to personalize certain product pages. For instance, you can hide the checkout button and use a contact us form, or a note that lets the customers know that it is only available in person. You can also remove the product from your shipping profile so that customers can only select local delivery or pickup.
