Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
Let's say we have 10 items in our shop.
We charge a flat fee of £3.50 for shipping for any combo up to 4 items after that we ratch it up to £5 total.
For a new item, we are getting it's super light and small so I only want to charge £1 if up to 2 quantities are purchased. If 3-5 quantities are purchased I'll charge £3.5. Can someone help with this I'm stuck on figuring this out.
It keeps stacking the price if that new item is added to an existing stock item which I want it to not charge.
I've done a small table here to show my thinking but I'm stuck if someone can help that'd be great.
CHECKOUT Products | Shipping (What i want it to be) |
Coffee A | £3.5 |
Coffee A + New Product | £3.5 |
New Product | £1 |
New Product X 2 | £1 |
I really hope the community can help on this one.

Hi @MrChris,
To achieve this shipping setup the only workaround is an app like Multi Carrier Shipping Label app. The app allows you to set up multiple shipping rules where you can set up prices based on the number of your products. Not just that you can set flat rates & use carrier calculated rates based on your needs.
Hi, @MrChris.
Thanks for the question! It sounds like you are trying to set up per product shipping rates. Currently, Shopify doesn’t have per product shipping per say. However, you could set this up for the new product by creating its own Shipping Profile.
If you go this route your current rates will stay the same, but if a customer also purchases an additional product the shipping would increase by £1. Additionally, if you want the shipping rate to increase for that product based upon quantities, you will need to use the weight based flat rate option. We have a great guide that will walk you through the process here: Shipping Rates. Another great option would be to use an app such as:
In the meantime, I would love to hear more about your business! Are your previous rates working correctly aside from the new product? Feel free to share a screenshot of your shipping settings so we can take a look. When doing so, make sure that you don't include any sensitive information.
