Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Is it just me or does anyone else think the change to purchasing and printing labels is way more cumbersome and pain in the butt? Before the change it stayed on order page and let me do it all in the same place. Now it takes me to a completely different screen, requires way more click just to print my labels and packing slips. With the issues I've had lately with shopify, I'm going to start looking at their competitors who value the customer experience and don't constantly make more work for me when printing orders. Shopify, if it's not broke don't fix it because you've made the experience way more cumbersome and are going to lose customers, including me! Ridiculous!
Yes, the new shipping labels page is the worst ! Very confusing, and way more clicks, plus you cannot see an overview without sliding the task bar left/right. We didn't ask for this BS... the previous page worked just fine, and was one simple page you could view at one time. How do you even contact someone at Shopify to let your opinion be heard, or even better, revert back to the previous version?
this change is terrible! Why make the process more cumbersome
Contacting support does no good--they told me there has been no change.
The hope is when contacting support they are able to forward to our requests to the right people and if we have enough request they will make the change back. Its a long shot.
Even Ebay has a one page shipping label page, that is very simple to use... and if you wanted bulk labels they have that option at well. Shopify is getting beat by Ebay.... Ebay!!
Terrible change I agree. It was easier the way they had it before! The label is also turned out in my adobe the wrong way and hard to position to print nicely

Respectfully, the only fix for this is to revert back to the previous Shipping Labels page layout. I have tried it several times, and a huge waste of time to click thru all the new steps...without seeing what you are actually doing. I'll be using my Shipstation account from now on, and Shopify can miss out on their cut
Honestly, yes! its like they made it super difficult to force us to use other apps or something. If its not broken, don't fix it Shopify!
Everyone needs to contact Shopify with emails and open tech help tickets....fill their inbox with messages and complaints...make them work harder....they are doing it to us ! We pay good money each month for the platform, and we should be able to pick what kind of shipping label page we use, that suits our business. Let your voices be heard !!

I switched back to ShipStation as well. This has to be the most clueless change. How could they not actually try it out first--cannot see how anyone would view this as simpler or a positive modification; just terrible.
Please let me know if there is a way to switch back to the old method. I would deeply appreciate it!
Just FYI, I tried to submit feedback to customer service, and all they responded was that they cannot go back to the previous way 🤷🏻♀️. I'm assuming they didn't even submit the feedback to upper management. The more and more I use this new label process, the more it's frustrating. I noticed we cannot even search for a specific shipping box like before. I would need to click the drop-down button and scroll through the list of many different box/package sizes I use. I really don't see how this new way of purchasing a shipping label was an improvement over the previous method. Waiting for Shopify to make an improvement on this improvement.
This has to be the stupidest update done on Shopify's end. I can see this pushing us to change platforms, as it is now more confusing for all of our employees to print labels.
My labels won’t print customer information anymore. Chatted with shopify and in other words they say I don’t know what I’m doing.

I agree, this new update is ridiculous. Why would shopify think its a good idea push us into the "bulk" label page for a single order label. It doesn't make any sense. The old format was simple, fast and effective.
I totally agree! It was easier to view the previous way, especially since with different size products, I always need to change the shipping box. Now, this single line view with no details makes it so much more TEDIOUS 😞 Shopify, go back to the previous method please! 🙏 Or at least give us a choice to pick between the old view & the new view!
I can't believe Shopify did this ! How stupid is this , to make the process longer by adding 3-5 additional clicks ! Why would they do this ? Someone there think with their feet .
Please inform me if you discover a method to revert back to the previous process. The new process is much more challenging as we have processed one shipment at a time instead of "in a bulk format," as the new change seems to assume. I would appreciate having the option to switch back to the older way of processing shipping labels!
There is no way to revert back. When asking Shopify support, all they do is forward it to there team as a suggestion to switch back. They have no intent to help or actually do anything about this.
I have been using ShipStation thru my business Paypal account... and the rates are a lot cheaper than Shopify....in some cases it has been half as much. If the customer pays with Paypal, it is no extra work to print the label... if they use credit card, i just copy/paste the shipping address and its done. We pay Shopify for a service, and they won't listen to us, so screw them.
Submitted a complaint~ This change also got rid of the dropdown feature showing all the items of orders on the print label page too.
Now, instead of staying on one page when fulfilling orders, I have to refer to the label page to find the orders I am fulfilling (i dont always fulfill in order of date), then go hand select orders to see the items. This was a huge L for community! It's an unnecessary time suck! Please change it back Shopify!
I'll just leave this here in case anyone is looking for a less cumbersome solution. I can see someone mentioned going back to a third party shipping platform - I'd recommend this approach if you want a bit more control over your printing.
All of these platforms handle label printing a bit differently, but with Starshipit (as an example), you can do trigger printing automatically when orders come into your account or scan to print with a barcode scanner. You can also just print from the same orders page too 🙂 Just food for thought!
Shopify actually listened. They have reverted back to the "old" single label workflow.

We ship with Shippo but I have always printed packing lists from Shopify because they looked better and don't have the prices on, so we can use them for gift shipments, too. We have been doing a large seminar for a few days and the orders coming in so far this week have been for customized items we will need to build, so I have not needed a packing slip for a few days. I didn't find the new change till just now.
Today I tried to print a packing list and could not. first I could not find the command as they have created a new "print" pull down menu,it tried to get me to download the dang thing, which I do not need to do, we do not save copies of packing lists. Then when I clicked cancel it went to "generating packing slip" with a whirling arrow, it has been doing that for maybe 5 minutes now. So today I will have to create a packing slip in Word or use the Shippo one.
Plus, in the more actions pull down menu, they've moved things that used to be easily accessable and added an order status page, which makes you log into your store, rather than working from admin.
It is getting harder and harder to get anything done in Shopify. It keeps getting more complicated without adding any benefit to the vendor, but rather makes you need to buy an app, another leech feeding off your store, to do things shopify used to do.
If Shopify is going to do "improvements" whether we need or want them anyhow, then, Shopify, please at least make sure the "improvements" are funcitional before dumping them on us.
I still don't have a packing slip, the page still has the busy arrow and "Generating packing slip" after 10 or so minutes

First, if you're experiencing an infinite load with your packing slip, please attempt to print the slip again using a new window. I just tested the print functionality on my own store and did not encounter this infinite load issue, so it's likely local to your device, so trying again should resolve things. Additionally, I was not prompted to 'download' a copy of my packing slip on my device when selecting the option to print one. Instead, my device loaded up a device-specific viewer that showed me the slip as a PDF, and allowed me to print from there, which is typical for my device. If you encounter additional oddities that you're unable to resolve by using a different window, device, or refreshing the page, please reach out to our Team via our Help Center so we can get you authenticated and look into this via your store specific context.

The problem has not resolved itself. I tried to attach a snaggit of the save pop up but you don't accept .jpg files. I have to get this order out now so I will use a Shippo label, which isn't as nice.
If I try to print in a new page, it brings up the print page, but with the order, not the packing slip. If I do try to save it I get the unending "generating" arrow. I left the store, I rebooted, I made sure the adblocker ignored this site. I will try a different device but now I have to pack an order. Thanks for trying
Problem turned out to be an update to Chrome that changed all of our settings.
So Shopify was not in the wrong here, the new changes do function.
