New Feature - Automatic Free Shipping Discount is now available

Automatic free shipping discounts have been added, and also have a combinable option.

You can now offer automatic free shipping to your customers, directly from Shopify admin, without having to rely on a discount code, Scripts, or an app.

This update will allow you to increase buyer conversion and provide a better customer experience by rewarding your customers with free shipping, without requiring them to input a code.

Options: Countries, Exclude shipping rates over a certain amount, Toggle offering on POS-Pro, Minimum Purchase amount,Minimum Quantity of items, Combinations (product & order discounts), Active dates.

 Possibly purchase type (one-time-purchase,subscriptions, or both) as well?

 

Not options for automatic,

  • No Customer Eligibility(customer segments, specific customers) though in manual discounts-codes: i.e. no tagged customers, for that feature please join and request in this thread https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussions/apply-automatic-discount-to-tagged-customers/m-p... 
  •  No maximum discount uses(total uses, limit per customer)  though in manual discounts-codes:
  • Others - no limiting to specific products, collections, or shipping profiles,  etc etc etc. For complex criteria like that an app will still be required.

The shipping price is still visible and customers think they have to pay that price!

Please fix that ASAP🙏

same for me. Thats confusing, the should be also the free shipping badge visible or striked out ...

The shipping price is still visible and cart AJAX api still don't has the free discount info on cart_level_discount_applications in response.

I tried this function and it worked.

However, I want get the free shipping discount for notification that "how much to get the free shipping". I can't find any API to get one. So which API are we use for get free shipping discount.

@ThangCQ I haven't messed with the api for this, no idea where in the api this would be.

If not in the related discounts api then it's possible the api part for this hasn't surfaced yet either for ajax or the REST/GraphQL api.

Great, but I want to have free STANDARD shipping over a certain spend, but still have express at a cost, how do I do this?

Discounts not needed for that, be sure to explore the options the admin gives you.

And read the free manual

You can set shipping profiles based on order price including $0:

Thanks tried that but it showed three shipping options, now realise that the standard shipping had to have the maximum order ie $148.99, then added the FREE shipping option with a minimum of $149, this then only showed the two options - FREE and Express.

You can select which shipping rate to make free (whilst leaving express untouched) by using Advanced Free Shipping.
