Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Has anyone realized that once we are all forced into PayPal Wallet starting on October 7th, we WILL NOT BE ABLE to provide Partial Refunds or returns to our customers that paid with PayPal Wallet (classic PayPal will go away) and that Shopify won't provide ANY WARNING at checkout to these customers?
So the millions of customers used to paying with PayPal and being able to receive a partial refund because of simple things like they removed an item from their order, inventory was incorrect and we had to switch to a different less pricier item, an item arrived broken and we want to refund just that one item and not an entire order... for NONE of those reasons all of the sudden and with no LOGICAL explanation we won't be able to issue partial refunds.
Shopify wants us to do full refunds and loose all of our money, or make the customer REALLY angry and explain them all we can offer is a GiftCard.
Because also, unlike ANY other modern ecommerce cart we cant offer store credits, UNLESS we tell ALL of our customers to create a new account (we all know how much customers love doing that, right?).
CLEARLY whoever decided this NEVER had a store of their own and was never in charge of customer service. Further more, whoever decided this must be a billionaire used getting all of their money back for anything... because otherwise they would know that normal customers expect to receive partial refunds in certain situations. It is THEIR money after all, not ours to keep.
We can not accept this travesty. Enough merchants should stand up against this tirany that Shopify has turned into. They are reducing our ability to provide BASIC good customer service.. it is the year 2024 and we won't be able to do partial refunds???????? What????
