NRIC/FIN for Shopify Payment Sign Up

We are trying to set up a store for our new entity in Singapore.  To set up Shopify payments, we require a NRIC/FIN for the director.  The director is Australian and we don't know what this number should be.  We tried a passport number and that did not work.  Outside of that, Australia does not have a NRIC/FIN.
