Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Our old packaging for our food products (fruit jams, spreads, etc.) does not have a Nutrition Facts label. The products are already stored in a 3PL warehouse, and we plan to sell the remaining stock without the label, as our next batch of products will have the updated packaging with the Nutrition Facts included.
Given this situation, how strict is Shopify regarding the absence of Nutrition Facts on the packaging? Can we include the nutritional information in the product description on the product page instead? Will we get in trouble for this? Thank you.
Hey, @Jun_Kuan
Great question. This would be a better suited question to ask a business lawyer/consultant to assist with this who has experience selling in the food industry. Different countries/regions may have differing laws regarding nutritional labels being affixed to food products. So while it's technically not required to add to your product page in Shopify, you could potentially run into issues down the road.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
