Paid for a year and now it says it's expired?

Customer said they can't place order due to not accepting "real payments". But I paid for a year? What do I do?

There are a couple common reasons that an error message like this shows up at checkout:

  • the payment gateway is still in test mode
  • the store was previously on a development plan (if you signed up through an Affiliate or were working with a Shopify Partner to build your store)


If you've confirmed that the payment gateway is not in test mode and is ready to accept real payments, please contact our team via the Shopify Help Center so we can investigate further and help you resolve this.
