Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi there,
I am a Shopify Partner and have a client with a custom webstore that is looking to migrate to Shopify (probably Plus). They sell high-end furniture that is made to order, so customers pay a 25% deposit to place the order, then the rest is manually billed to the credit card through the CC portal when the furniture is finished and it's ready to be shipped. This period between deposit and full payment can be up to 12 weeks. This is B2C.
Is this functionality possible with Shopify Payments? According to this document, Shopify Payments can only bill within 30 days. Is there a way around this without sending an invoice for the remainder?
Thanks.
Hey @TinfoilDreams!
The documentation can be a bit confusing here. It's not possible out of the box with standard authorization of charges, but it is possible using a purchase option app.
Me and my team built one which you might be interested in checking out (Early Bird). It sounds like it does what you need (take a deposit upfront, and authorize/auto-capture the remaining payment after 12 weeks).
Has a bunch more options around preorders, backorders etc. and we don't take commission fees (plus a 100% free plan if you wanted to try it out).
Let me know if you had any other questions - I monitor this forum, and our in-app support, so might chat soon!
Thanks Jay,
Does this work with Shopify Payments?
Thanks
