Hi Forgive my question but I though this best place to ask.

If I understood Printful or any other service like it prints and ships and then you pay Printful but you must also pay Shopify some % sale commission right?

Printful take your credit card as does Shopify and as we all know credit cars charge a % on top is there any way to pay Shopify and Printful on sales without using a credit car and amassing large interest? Thanks for any clever ideas and tips

Hey @myhappygifts,

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

Yes, you are correct that Printful is a print-on-demand service that handles the printing, fulfillment, and shipping of products on behalf of Shopify store owners. When you use Printful, you will pay for the cost of production and shipping of each order, as well as any applicable taxes and fees.

Additionally, if you sell products using Shopify's platform, you don't pay any commission. Instead, you are only subject to transaction fees and payment processing fees. The transaction fees vary depending on the plan you are on, while the payment processing fees are charged by Shopify Payments or any third-party payment gateway that you use to process payments.

To answer your question, there are a few options:

  • Use PayPal or other payment methods: Shopify allows you to integrate with a variety of payment gateways, including PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more. This means that you can accept payments without having to input your credit card information directly into Shopify.
  • Use a debit card instead of a credit card: Debit cards don't typically charge interest, so if you have a debit card with money in the account, you can use it to pay for your Shopify and Printful fees.

Overall, it's important to consider the fees associated with using Printful and Shopify before getting started. By weighing your options and choosing the payment method that works best for you, you can minimize the impact of these fees on your business.
